HEALING THROUGH THE WORD AND MEDICINES

“He sent his word, and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions.”

(Psalm 107:20, KJV)

Then Isaiah said, “Take a lump of figs.” So they took and laid it on the boil, and he recovered.

(Isaiah 20:7, KJV)

Jesus raised Lazarus from the dead by His Word. Jesus healed the man by the pool of Bethesda, who had been an invalid for 38 years, by the Word.  Jesus healed the sick and raised the dead by His Word and, in some cases, with some mixtures that can be classified as medicines.

Jesus is alive and is still healing. The Word of healing may be provoked by compassion as a result of prayers and revelation.  In The Roses Ministry, Jesus heals many weekly, through His Word. An example is a benign breast lump of many years, which disappeared a week after the Word was spoken during prayers, and the sister was saved from further anxiety and medical expenses.

The discovery and manufacture of medicines depend on both scientific knowledge and revelation from God. King Hezekiah was healed at the point of death with a cake of figs (2 Kings 20:1-7). In The Roses Ministry, many receive healing through the antihypertensive and anti-diabetic medicines given free of charge to vulnerable widows. The Lord’s hands are not shortened or constrained. He uses either the word or medical intervention to save lives. It is not being faithless to go through surgery or accept medical assistance from professionally qualified personnel. In fact, medical personnel will admit that they “care but God heals”.  It is therefore not a dichotomy of God doing one and man being in charge of the other. God does both, using man to effect the healing either by word or through the use of medicine. You only need to be careful not to be a victim of quacks in “prayer houses”, chemist shops and in hospital facilities.

ACTION: Like any machine, the body needs regular maintenance. When last did you go for a medical check-up?

PRAYER: Father God, I declare your Word of healing on every ailment afflicting me or my loved ones, irrespective of the medical prognosis or how long it has been. Amen.
