“Thy reign come: Thy will come to pass, as in heaven also on the earth.” (Matthew 6:10 YLT)
“Then Jesus came with them to a place called Gethsemane, …..and He began to be sorrowful and deeply distressed. Again, a second time, He went away and prayed, saying, ‘O My Father, if this cup cannot pass away from Me unless I drink it, Your will be done.’” (Matthew 26:36, 42)
ACTION: Let us willingly submit to God’s will and plans for us. In spite of the intense pain, sorrow and distress, Jesus still prayed that God’s will be done. His agony was terrible as he took our sins on himself so was separated from God. Even though he prayed that the cup of suffering would pass from him, he still yielded to God’s will with endurance, knowing the reason and end of it all.
PRAYER: Lord, please grant us the grace to willingly submit to God’s will in all things. Jesus is the Mediator of the new Covenant!
