“My God is my protection, and with him I am safe. He protects me like a shield; He defends me and keeps me safe. He is my saviour; He protects me and saves me from violence.” (2 Samuel 22:3)

The world seems to be on a rapid decline into violence and frightening beliefs that oppose God’s word, but they are justified as ‘development’. Are we afraid of what each year holds for us, in all nations especially in Nigeria? David was afraid for his life and his nation, Israel, so he prayed, “I call to the Lord who is worthy of praise and he saves me from my enemies.” (2 Samuel 22:4) Jesus saves and protects us.

ACTION: Set out a daily prayer time and call to God for mercy for yourself, family and nation! Include declarations of the Word like the verse above.

PRAYER: O God our Father, our Rock, Fortress and Deliverer, in Your mercy, deliver and protect us. Grant us peace and progress in our nation, and give us the ability to discern and reject things that oppose you, in Jesus name, Amen.
