Jehovah El Roi

“Thereafter, Hagar used another name to refer to the Lord, who had spoken to her. She said, ‘You are the God who sees me.’ She also said, ‘Have I truly seen the One who sees me?’” (Genesis 16:13 NLT)

Sometimes things ‘happen’ to some people and they feel forgotten by God and man. Hagar’s situation changed from that of a favoured servant, who was chosen to bear a child for her master, to a despised and maltreated one who ran away. God showed that He sees and cares for each of us, even in our deepest distress. He sent an angel to comfort and counsel her with promises of many descendants and a future of hope.

ACTION: Do not try to hide your challenges from God, for He knows all. Run to God, not away from Him.

PRAYER: Oh Lord who sees and cares, please intervene in all the areas of our lives where we feel helpless. Be our Solution, Father, in Jesus name, Amen.
