About the Revelation

“For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie; though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry. Hab. 2:3”

The revelations that gave birth to The Roses started as far back as the year 1991. God spoke to me for three consecutive days from the 10th to 12th of March of that year. The first day, the Lord showed me myself standing on a wide road with an arrow on a signboard. I was walking toward the direction of the arrow, all alone but the Lord said He would fill it with the people who will come to Him through the glory He will show in my life. The next day, I saw the road again. God asked me to see what he sees: I saw the road filled with people. On the third day, with the same revelation the Lord spoke to me again, saying, “I am the Lord your God. I will take you to show you my glory, but you will come back. I have shown you the road (with the arrow). I will use you for great and mighty things. When you have seen my glory you will come back and testify to men what you have seen. That road will be filled with people who will see my glory in you and come to me through you. I am the Lord and I have spoken to you that I will use you for great & mighty things”. …………These words were fulfilled on Saturday, 2nd December 2006.

From time to time, the Lord would remind me of His words and I would re-affirm my offer of myself as a willing tool in His hands. I felt very, very inadequate. I determined to prepare myself. Some of the ways I intended to do this were; attending spiritual uplifting and faith building programs, reading Christian literature, and eventually attending Bible School. In 1997, with divine directions I attended Bible School for a postgraduate diploma in Bible Studies and Leadership Training, and 1998 for a diploma in Theology. Was I ready? I was working directly in the Lord’s vineyard and also home, children, work took a lot of my time. These were all important to the Lord. However, at this period of my life, I faced various tough challenges but my Lord delivered me out of them all, just as He promised.Many evils confront the consistently righteous, but the Lord delivers him out of them all. Ps. 34:19. Amp.

Years later, on the 17th of February 2005, I began to receive a quickening in my spirit that the time for the beginning of this assignment was near. The Lord encouraged me by showing me an unbreakable, solid, metal like, hedge He had formed around me so I should go forth and show His love and praise. As in 1991, these visions were repeated. I did not understand the details of this assignment. However, eager to obey, I brought together 13 women for a 14 week session of Beth Moore’s Faith tapes, doing all the homework and practice exercises. This was exciting. We took a break to resume after the summer holidays for a second session. The Lord showed in several ways that this was not the main vision.

By December, I began to hear the Lord say to me, “Feed my people! Feed my people!” I sought the Lord in prayers to understand how –was this feeding the poor, beggars with food? Feeding women who are hurting with the Word with its peace and comfort? Or the youths lost in sexual immorality, drug abuse and cultism?  One day, while praying I heard some loud bangs and tinkling with the word, ROSE; audible, unmistakable, ROSES. I pondered at what this might mean, I understood as if I heard in a still small voice, “The name”. That is the origin of our name, The Roses. From this time I continued to receive words of encouragement and confirmation from the Lord and Christian brethren who had no idea of this revelation.

Matthew 25:35-36(NIV):
 “For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, 36 I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.”

From October 2006, I had some health challenges with conflicting diagnoses. I travelled from Lagos to London to seek another opinion. On the 2nd of December, what started off as an investigative medical trip turned into a nightmare. In the process of being rushed to the hospital in a semi-conscious state, I saw the Lord; that was how what the Lord had told me on the 12th of March 1991 was fulfilled; that He would take me to show me His glory and bring me back to testify. What I saw and heard are truly indescribable. However in summary, the Lord held my hand with His right hand as we walked (glided) through a glowing passage, like clouds of pure transluscent gold swirling into walls around us, with great peace, joy, an indescribable feeling; as we talked, through some gates of pearl. And the twelve gates were twelve pearls, each separate gate being built of one solid pearl. And the main street of the city was of gold as pure and transluscent as glass. Rev.21:21, Amp.  As we approached what I believe to be the magnificent gates of heaven, having pleased the Lord with my commitment for The Roses, I pleaded with the Lord to take me back as I had seen enough. The effectual fervent prayers of my loving children and their friends, my beloved husband, my ever- faithful sisters, ever sacrificial mum and siblings, in-laws, friends and Christian brethren, with my willing obedience availed, bringing forth healing.

I spent the period of convalescence to listen to the Lord on the details of the ministry of The Roses. Hence the vision to show God’s love in practical ways to the hurting and lost; and subsequently the action plan.  As soon as I came back to Lagos in January 2007, the Lord sent helpers, starting with Ngozi Aduba and we started off The Roses. Ngozi had also received a confirmatory message about the Ministry which she shared with me on 21st November 2006. The Lord used her to co-ordinate the women’s weekly fellowship within our first year before she left Lagos.

The Roses started with a first visit to a physically & mentally challenged children’s school, with ten women amongst whom were Ngozi, Adesua, Vicky, Chineze, & Fidel  and subsequently to orphanages, hospitals, the poor, the elderly and prisons; programs for widows and youths; assistance in the rehabilitation of prostitutes; as well as support for missions and evangelism. We took gifts for our visits but more importantly spending time in play, teaching with film shows, feeding and general care to express God’s love to them in practical ways. The women’s weekly Thursday meetings started the week after the first visit, with an initial number of three women; initially for prayers and in a few weeks as a fellowship for bible studies, prayers and counselling with an abundance of revelations, testimonies and the almost tangible, awesome presence of God from the first day till date. Within a few weeks many more diligent workers with revelation and understanding of  the vision joined amongst whom are Tety, Miriam, Chioma, Chinwe, Nwadi, Precious, Ijeoma, Ugochi, Lucy, Uju, Joy, Nnenna, Lizzy, Uche, Gogo. Goal are set.

Within one year, by January 2008, our short terms goals were achieved. Our weekly meetings were well attended with an average attendance of…. with revelations, messages from the Lord at each meeting; and many more seeking counseling, receiving godly counsel, healing and miracles in several areas. These meetings moved locations from within the first few months at the visioner’s living room to a fast food restaurant hall at Alhaji Masha, Surulere and as at 2009 to a medium sized rented office/hall at the National population Commission Office Complex, 12-14 Babs Animashaun Street, Surulere, Lagos.

In the first year, 2007 different Bible characters were studied. In year 2008 we had the year’s program with different topics per month and visitation and scheduled programs for each of the different groups visited in the previous year. Within these first two years, seminars on different topics were held with experienced speakers as guest speakers on Christian topics as well as Health and Financial topics. Topics included: Youth and Righteousness, Rewards of Purity, Holiness, Breast cancer, Cervical Cancer, Stress, HIV/Aids, Divine health- physical exercises, budgeting, etc.

We started visits to the female prison in Lagos in May 2008 and have sustained monthly visits till date with toiletries, Bibles, note books, Novels, Bible study books and aids; but a one off supply of wrought iron beds, mattresses, bed sheets, and blankets for the inmates as Christmas gift for same year.

Some widows were rehabilitated and different forms of assistance, financial and otherwise were given to some widows especially in rents for their homes and businesses.
