THE FIG TREE DIED (2)

“But the fig tree said to them, ‘Shall I leave my sweetness and my good fruit and go hold sway over the trees?’”

(Judges 9:11)

Amazing! Even the trees know their purpose. In the Bible, when the trees of the forest offered kingship respectively to the olive tree, the vine and the fig tree, the fig tree answered with the words in the verse above. The fig tree, the olive tree and the vine all rejected the offer to be president of the trees but chose rather to fulfil their God-given roles. What are our choices?

ACTION:  Reflect on one thing you have been asking from God. What is your motive for asking?

PRAYER: Oh Lord, please grant me the grace to align my desires with your Word and your will.  Amen.
