“Keep your conscience clear. Then if people speak against you, they will be ashamed when they see what a good life you live because you belong to Christ.”(1 Peter 3:16 NLT)
The world we live in delights more in negative news than positive. We cannot stop people from exposing our weaknesses and slandering us, but we can stop supplying them with bullets to shoot us by our behaviour. We have already referred to the Igbo proverb that says: the mouth that speaks evil against me shall eventually speak good about me. When we do what is right and live above board, continue to pray for our proclaimed enemies, false accusations will eventually embarrass the accuser, who will have no choice but to recant.
ACTION: Focus on the strengths and not the weaknesses of others.
PRAYER: Father God, please grant us grace to live in integrity and not give cause for our faith to be questioned or Your name put into disrepute.
