God is a promise-keeper!

“God is not a man, so he does not lie. He is not human, so he does not change his mind. Has he ever spoken and failed to act? Has he ever promised and not carried it through?”(Numbers 23:19 NLT)

Our God is consistent. He keeps all His promises. Researchers say that the Bible contains over 8,000 promises, and over 7,000 of them are promises made by God to man. Joshua confirmed that “not a word failed of any good thing which the Lord had spoken to the house of Israel.” (Joshua 21:45) Jesus Himself said: “These are the words which I spoke to you while I was still with you, that all things must be fulfilled which were written in the Law of Moses     and the Prophets and the Psalms concerning Me.” (Luke 24:44) We are still seeing the fulfilment of many of these promises in our lifetime.

ACTION: Be consistent. Keep your promises. Trust God to keep His. Do not make promises you may not be able to keep.

PRAYER: Dear Lord, please grant us grace not to allow ourselves to be pressured into making promises that we cannot fulfil.
