“who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness by whose stripes you were healed.”     (1 Peter 2:24)

Jesus did a substitute atonement by dying for our sins to save us from suffering the punishment of eternal death which we deserve for our sins. Because the Word says that the soul that sins shall die, Jesus was forsaken by the Father on the cross till death was accomplished. When we accept Jesus as Lord and Saviour, we are crucified with Christ, and since we have died to sin, the righteousness of Christ is imputed unto us and we receive physical and spiritual healing.

ACTION: We determine to live in the righteousness of Christ, by faith in the Son of God, who loves us and gave Himself for us.

PRAYER: Lord Jesus, thank You for this sacrifice which has set us free.
