Topic: The adverse effects of drugs and alcohol abuse.
The Roses Ministry was at Princeton College this October. It was a very educative and informative seminar with the students of Princeton College. Pharm. Mrs. Regina Ezenwa introduced the topic giving simple definitions for drug and drug abuse so the students would understand it. She advised the students to be the Daniel Generation like Daniel, in the book of Daniel 1:8 of the Bible, who determined not to defile himself with the king’s meat and wine. They should determine not to defile themselves with any of the substances that are readily abused e.g. alcohol, cigarettes & tobacco, illicit drugs, prescription & even over the counter drugs, and inhalants. She listed some of the consequences of drugs and alcohol abuse as lowered commitments to academics, health and safety, financial burdens, and social effects. Pharm Mrs. Amaka Ofomata held the students spell bound with an exciting interactive session with the students on the practical aspects, examples and exposures of our youths to drugs and alcohol. In between she taught on the right choices and decisions for a student of the Daniel generation. Novels were given out as prizes to students who excelled inthe vibrant Questions and Answers Session. Mrs. Chineze Ajoku stressed the importance of having self-confidence so they can stand their ground even when faced with peer pressure. Mrs. Eucharia Okereke concluded the seminar.
