JEHOVAH, OUR HEALER

“Then the Lord God formed the man from the dust of the ground. He breathed the breath of life into the man’s nostrils, and the man became a living person.”(Genesis 2:7, NLT)

I guess you wonder why the title here is not “Jehovah, our Creator”. The Lord God BREATHED into man’s nostrils the breath of life. He handed over that ability to us. We can breathe by ourselves, free of charge. We were taught in Biology that, as we breathe in, we take in the life sustaining oxygen from the air and breathe out carbon dioxide. But at critical times in the life of some patients, they are given oxygen, life– giving oxygen. It is not free. It is for a fee.

For some ailments, the patient has to carry the oxygen cans on him or her all the time. Can you imagine if we had to pay for all the oxygen we take in? Only the exceedingly rich would live. And in a country like ours, maybe only the government officials and very few others would live.

Again, we are thankful to God our Healer because He gave wisdom and knowledge to those who discovered and separated medical oxygen that is given to save lives. Can you imagine how many lives that had been lost before that and how many are still being lost when that oxygen is not available to the patient who needs it? Thank you, Lord God, that we are alive, that we can breathe, that oxygen is free.

ACTION: Remember, with thanksgiving, all that our Lord God has given you for free.

PRAYER: I thank you, Lord, for the gift of life and good health. I pray that our hospitals, medical facilities and medical emergency services will be built up to international life–saving standards.
