8 MARCH
JESUS, OUR GREAT PHYSICIAN
“How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power. He went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with him.” (Acts 10:38)
Jesus healed the physically, emotionally and mentally sick. He set the captives free. He used His faith, faith of the sick, or faith of another person, and sometimes He required action.
I love the story of the woman with the issue of blood in the Gospels. She had desperate faith. In the twinkling of an eye, with an active touch of the garment of Jesus, Jesus our Great Physician and Solution Giver solved many problems–healing and wholeness from twelve years of bleeding, anaemia and pain, disgrace, hospital visits and expenditure, and inability to attend church services (a bleeding woman could not enter the synagogue)
Mark 5:25–29 narrates her story thus: “And there was a woman who had had a discharge of blood for twelve years, and who had suffered much under many physicians, and had spent all that she had, and was no better but rather grew worse. She had heard the reports about Jesus and came up behind him in the crowd and touched his garment. For she said, “If I touch even his garments, I will be made well.” And immediately the flow of blood dried up, and she felt in her body that she was healed of her disease”.
This woman had faith and works. Sometimes we need that type of desperate faith to receive our healing and deliverance from physical sickness, emotional and mental challenges, as well as from character traits that do not glorify God. We do not need to wait for twelve years.
ACTION: Identify areas of need for healing and change in your life and family. Reach out to touch Jesus in Faith. And Jesus said to him, “‘If you can believe, all things are possible for one who believes” (Mark 9:23).
PRAYER : Heal me, Oh Lord, and I will be healed!
