GOD: MY ALL IN ALL
“The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusted in him, and I am helped: therefore my heart greatly rejoices; and with my song will I praise him. (Psalms 28:7)
God is our Guide, Guard, Strength, Provider, Deliverer and Healer! Here is a beautiful hymn by William Williams that highlights the sufficiency of our God.
- Guide me, O my great Redeemer, pilgrim through this barren land; I am weak, but you are mighty; hold me with your powerful hand. Bread of heaven, bread of heaven, feed me now and evermore, feed me now and evermore.
“And the Lord went before them by day in a pillar of a cloud, to lead the way; and by night in a pillar of fire, to give them light; to go by day and night” (Exodus 13:21).
- Open now the crystal fountain, where the healing waters flow. Let the fire and cloudy pillar lead me all my journey through. Strong Deliverer, strong Deliverer, ever be my strength and shield, ever be my strength and shield.
“Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go” (Joshua 1:9).
- When I tread the verge of Jordan, bid my anxious fears subside. Death of death, and hell’s Destruction, land me safe on Canaan’s side. Songs of praises, songs of praises I will ever sing to you, I will ever sing to you.
“And he shewed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb. In the midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river, was there the tree of life,..:and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.”
(Revelation 22:1–2)
ACTION: Rejoice over the promises of God.
PRAYER: I worship you, Lord, because your promises never fail.
