THE BRIGHT MORNING STAR

“I am…the Bright and Morning Star.”
(Revelation 22:16)

The bright morning star outshines all other stars. Satan is referred to as the
morning star in Isaiah 14:12. For everything fake, there is an original. Satan is the
fake, a poor imitation of the bright and self- existent light of the world, the one
true Bright Morning Star, JESUS.

In science, the moon is not self-luminous but reflects light from the sun, which
gives it the appearance of producing its own light. The sun is a G-type main
sequence star that is self-luminous. The surface of the moon itself is dark, but
light from the sun makes it appear luminous.

This is instructive for us. Just like the moon will have no light without the sun, so
will we live in darkness without Jesus, the Light of the world. Sometimes we
classify some people as very evil because of their extremely sinful acts and
wickedness. Have we ever thought that, without Jesus, we might have our lives
darkened to such levels?

Jeremiah 17:9 describes the heart of man as deceitful above all things and
desperately wicked. And Jesus reveals even more clearly that from within, out
of the heart of man, come evil thoughts, sexual immorality, theft, murder,
adultery, coveting, wickedness, deceit, sensuality, envy, slander, pride,
foolishness. All these evil things come from within, and they defile a person.”
(Mark 7:21-23).
We are stars that must remain in the orbit of the Bright Morning

ACTION: Abide in Jesus, so your life can shine brighter and brighter for His glory.

PRAYER: Dear Lord, may your light always shine inside and out of me, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
