“Do not use harmful words, but only helpful words, the kind that build up and provide what is needed, so that what you say will do good to those who hear you.” (Ephesians 4:29).
God created the world with words! We must determine to bring forth new
things with our words in our family environment (especially with children) and in the workplace. We must be sensitive to the feelings of others and desist from the use of harmful, hurtful, harsh, bitter and slanderous words.
Even if they are true, prayerfully they can be said in a helpful and positive way to restore, change or repair rather than destroy. We are called to be builders not destroyers. Let us speak positive words even to ourselves, choose joyful attitudes and acts of love.
ACTION: We shall use words of positive affirmation to build up at such a time as this.
PRAYER: Lord, please help us not to think that we have the prerogative of
wisdom in correcting others, but learn to correct in love and humility.
