“And this is the victory that has overcome the world—even our faith.”
(1 John 5:4)
We are over-comers through our faith! God says so. We overcome with diligence, self-discipline, obedience, love and faith. Sometimes it is not easy to obey, but God promises to lighten our burden. His grace is always sufficient. In his book and the movie: Faith like potatoes, Angus Buchan, a Zambian farmer of Scottish origin tells the story of moving away from home to look for a better life. In his struggles, he heard testimonies of other farmers and found Christ. Angus prayed in faith, and believing he was led by the Lord, he planted potatoes in the dry dust even though scientists had warned farmers not to plant unless they had irrigation. The unprecedented drought made it risky to plant potatoes. Without irrigation, when harvest time came, there was a crop of giant potatoes. God had honoured his faith. He will honour ours too.
ACTION: Plan some practical steps and deeds to reflect your faith in Christ.
PRAYER: God will do what He says He will do for us at such a time as this!
