“Call upon Me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you shall glorify Me.” (Psalm 50:15)
I just love this verse. I have used it many times and it always works. Most often I tell my Lord how and where I will glorify Him, and by His grace, I keep my own part of the bargain. Hannah made a promise to give her son back to serve God. She fulfilled her promise and God gave her many other sons and daughters. Let us not be rash in making promises, like Jephthah. This verse does not demand any vow as such. It is to glorify God, which we should do as part of our commitment of love for God and others. I find that a lot of people draw back from sharing their testimonies these days. There is power in testimonies: “And they overcame him (Satan, the accuser of the brethren) by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony.” (Rev. 12:11) “Let us confess the Lord before men so He will confess us before our Father! (Matthew 10:32)
