PREPARE THE HORSE

“The horse is prepared for the day of battle, but the victory belongs to the Lord.” (Proverbs 21:31)

Where do we draw the line between praying with faith that God has heard and answered and what we may need to do to bring forth God’s purpose?

A very practical example comes to mind of a married couple who desire a child. The marriage must be consummated for conception to take place. Then at the time of the birth of the child, the mother must push (hard labour) to give birth naturally.

We must do what we ought to and prepare for any task before us but all our preparation is useless without God! God will accomplish His purposes and He will be able to use us if we have done our part by being well prepared. There is a wise saying: “Pray as if all depends on prayer and work as if all depends on your work.”

ACTION: Decide to pray as if all depends on prayer and work as if all depends on work but in obedience to God!

PRAYER: Lord, strengthen me to balance my faith with work for desirable results.
