01 MAY

SHEEP OR GOAT?(2)

“So don’t be afraid, little flock. For it gives your Father great happiness to give you the Kingdom.”

(Luke 12:32)

Sheep or goat? There are differences in the natural eating habits of sheep and goats. Sheep are grazers, preferring to munch grass low to the ground. Goats, on the other hand, are browsers, choosing to select leaves, shrubs, vines, and weeds, often found at the tops of plants, higher off the ground. This eating close to the ground, putting them in close contact with roundworms, tapeworms and other parasites in manure makes the sheep develop more resistance to pasture parasites than goats which are more susceptible to devastating parasitic infections.

Our choice to humble ourselves, to be joyful in all circumstances and to accept trials and tribulations without grumbling, while looking only unto our Shepherd Jesus, will produce perseverance – and perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not disappoint (Romans 5:3-4). Just as the sheep trust the Shepherd, we should trust the Shepherd of our souls, for He will make all things work together for good for us who love Him.

ACTION:  Be humble for God to lift you up.

PRAYER: Heavenly Father, I look unto you at all times to work out your purpose in my life.
