SIGNS OF JESUS DIVINITY (7)

When Jesus saw their faith, He said to the paralytic, “Son, your sins are forgiven you.” And some of the scribes were sitting there and reasoning in their hearts, “Why does this Man speak blasphemies like this? Who can forgive sins but God alone?” (Mark 2:5-7|NKJV)

Only God has the authority to forgive sins committed against him as the one in the passage. The scribes protested because they understood the significance of Jesus’ statement, but what they did not recognise was that Jesus was God in flesh. We must acknowledge the Scripture: For we know in part, and we prophesy in part. which highlights the incomplete nature of human knowledge, especially concerning spiritual matters, in this present life. Thus we must submit to God’s absolute knowledge and authority in all things.

ACTION: Believe and trust the Lord and His Word even when we do not understand.

PRAYER: Father God, you are truly Omniscient. Please help us to put our finite minds into your infinite authority in Jesus’ name, Amen.
