SAVED BY COURAGE AND HOPE

“But Christ is faithful as the Son over God’s house. And we are his house, if indeed we hold firmly to our courage and

the hope in which we boast.”

(Hebrews 3:6, NIV)

Here is a story adapted from an online forum:

“One day, two friends were playing near a well. One of them was 12 years old, while the other was 13. Suddenly, the older kid fell into the well. The other kid started to panic, wondering what he could do on his own to save his friend from drowning. Realising that no adult was around whom he could call for help, he just had to find a way to help his friend. Courageously and with confident hope, he tied the rope at the end of the bucket to the metal hook at the top of the well and gently lowered the bucket into the well, calling out to his friend to hold onto it. His friend did and he pulled him out, all by himself.

Although the kid who fell into the well was in shock and could barely breath, he thanked his friend for saving his life”.

We are like children playing on the sands of time. Our courage and hope make our faith firm and real, especially in helping one another. Even though we are saved by Christ in us, we continue to hold on to Him, who is our Rock, with enduring courage, hope and faithfulness. Thus, are we enabled to withstand the winds of temptation, false teaching and persecution, to live victoriously to the end. 

ACTION: Begin totake steps of faith and courage in areas of your life that you have been full of doubts and fear.

PRAYER: Lord, please keep me courageous. Uphold me in faithfulness and hope to the very end.
