 THE MOUNTAINS OF JERUSALEM!

“You will bring them in and plant them, in the mountain of Your inheritance, in the place, O Lord, which You have made for Your own dwelling, the sanctuary, O Lord, which Your hands have established.
(Exodus 15:17)

God brought Israel, His chosen people, through the wilderness, over Jordan and planted them in the mountainous land of Canaan, a land of milk and honey. This foreshadows how He will bring and plant those who believe in Christ, the Rock, like a mountain, in an immovable and unalterable state.

From the foundation of the world, Jehovah has prepared an incorruptible and eternal inheritance in His own dwelling-place. He has established a sanctuary with His own hands as an everlasting habitation for His people, where He brings their souls at death. And, on the resurrection morning, He will bring both the souls and the transformed bodies to dwell with Him for ever. This is a paradise, an Eden of pleasure, the heavenly Jerusalem, where He plants Christians as trees of righteousness, next to Christ the tree of life.

There, they will always be green, fruitful, flourishing, and shall never be hurt by any scorching heat or blasting wind, or be trodden under foot or plucked up, a land of no more pain or sorrow.

ACTION: You have a part to play in inheriting the heavenly Jerusalem. Decide not to be found wanting.

PRAYER: Lord, make me worthy to partake of the incorruptible and eternal inheritance.
