“I am always aware of the Lord’s presence; he is near, and nothing can shake me”. (Psalm 16:8)

Every morning, Laura passed through the World Trade Centre Station to work. She was laid off on Friday, September 7th, 2001, but still planned to go to the unemployment office next to the World Trade Centre on the morning of 9/11. She felt a peace that she couldn’t explain and so was waiting to leave after the morning rush hour. She thus became a survivor instead of a victim, out of over 3,000 who lost their lives in the bombing. Christians are not always exempt from the daily circumstances of life – pain, trouble, failure. However, unlike the unbeliever who may have a sense of hopelessness and confusion, the believer has a unique sense of security and confidence in God and his omnipresence, omnipotence and omniscience. His peace passes all understanding. Are you shaken by the challenges of this season? God is with you!

ACTION: Seek God’s presence and peace even when things seem challenging.

PRAYER: Father God, please make me sensitive and aware of Your presence at such a time as this.
