“Then she made a vow and said, “O Lord of hosts, Jehovah Sabaoth, if You will indeed look on the affliction of Your maidservant and remember me,.. …but will give Your maidservant a male child, then I will give him to the Lord all the days of his life, and no razor shall come upon his head.” (1 Samuel 1: 11)

Heartbroken, taunted by others, she had battles to fight. She could have chosen to fight in several other ways: physically, vocally, traditionally, using intrigues and falsehood, etc. How do we fight our battles? Victory is God’s! To Hannah, there was only one way to fight. In the temple, she prayed fervently to Jehovah Sabaoth, the Lord God of Hosts, the Lord of the armies of heaven and earth, who alone could make her more than a conqueror. She won in the most unexpected way. She received an extraordinary son who became God’s chosen prophet and the last Judge of Israel.

ACTION: Cry to Jehovah Sabaoth about things that cause you pain and anguish.

PRAYER: We will have victory, for Jehovah Sabaoth fights our battles at such a time as this.
