“The LORD is my shepherd (Yahweh Raah); I have everything I need.” (Psalm 23:1) The Lord is our good Shepherd who guides, provides and protects us His sheep up to the extent of giving His life for us, so that the roaring lion will not devour us in this world and in eternity. Even in the midst of famine and drought, our Shepherd leads us to green pastures and still waters, so that we would have everything we need.
As David said: “I have been young, and now am old; yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his descendants begging bread.” (Psalm 37:25) As the sheep, we should know the voice of the Shepherd and follow Him as obedient disciples in the right ways to the right places. But unlike the animal qualities of the sheep, we should not be frightened, passive animals.
ACTION: Follow Jesus, our good Shepherd, even when it does not seem to make sense.
PRAYER: Our Father and our God, we rely on You and will follow wherever You lead, especially at such a time as this.
