“So it came to pass, when they (the angels) had brought them (Lot and his family) outside, that he said, ‘Escape for your life! Do not look behind you nor stay anywhere in the plain. Escape to the mountains, lest you be destroyed’.”(Genesis 19:17)

“Abstain from every form of evil”. (1 Thessalonians 5:22)

ACTION: We may not be able to avoid every kind of evil because we live in a sinful world. However, we can flee from appearances of evil by avoiding tempting situations and places, and by refusing to give evil a foothold in our lives. We can choose to focus on obeying God and controlling our desires. The consequences of disobedience are often destructive, but they may also be subtle and hidden. Lot’s wife was destroyed for disobedience.

PRAYER: Our Father God, thank you for the Holy Spirit, our Helper. Please grant us grace to recognize sin, and in obedient response reject and flee from it, in Jesus name, Amen. And it came to pass! Jesus strengthens!
