WALK IN THE LIGHT (5)

“Blessed are those who have learned to acclaim you, who walk in the light of your presence, LORD.”(Psalms 89:15, NIV)

The blessings of walking the light of God’s presence are so much greater and everlasting than just material and visible things which are ephemeral. Do you sometimes, like me, burst out in thanksgiving to God for many seemingly undeserved favours and mercies, as well as inner peace and joy from His presence? Do you let out shouts of Alleluia for His promises that can never fail?

I remember my family tradition of holding our hands together (when our children were younger and still at home with us), as we cried out to God in prayers during challenges. And He ALWAYS gave us an answer of peace.

There was a particular instance in which my niece was critically ill and her father, a medical doctor, called, very troubled. We formed our circle, with hands joined together in agreement and prayed fervently till the Lord spoke. As we began to acclaim and worship Him in thanksgiving for answered prayer, another call came in that the sick damsel was regaining her strength. My children could not help asking me, “What do those who do not know the Lord do at times like this?”

Blessings are beyond what money can buy. The greater blessings may seem intangible but they are really what make up abundant life.

ACTION: Create time to dwell in the presence of God in prayer and meditation on His Word.

PRAYER: Heavenly Father, open my eyes of understanding to cherish the joys of being in your presence above everything else!
