02 JUNE

WHAT DO YOU SEE?

“The land we passed through to spy out is an exceedingly good land. If the Lord delights in us, he will bring us into this land and give it to us, a land that flows with milk and honey.”

 (Numbers 14: 7– 8)

“Then the men who had gone up with him said, “We are not able to go up against the people, for they are stronger than we are.”

(Numbers 13:31)

Rightly has it been said that faith hears the inaudible, sees the invisible, believes the incredible and receives the impossible. God finally led His people, Israel, out of Egypt after 430 years of slavery. He took them through a journey of great manifestations of His power. At this time, the Israelites reached the edge of the Promised Land. Twelve spies were sent to search out the land. Ten saw only giants who were stronger than them but two of them, Joshua and Caleb, saw an exceedingly good land.

Our fears can cloud reality. The seemingly giant challenges can make God’s promise seem impossible. This was Satan’s last onslaught in this journey. Most often, the same happens, as Satan sets the biggest, toughest and most frightening situations before us just at the edge of our victory. What should we do? We must focus on the goal, the light – Jesus the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

Marcus Aurelius was right in saying, “Everything we hear is an opinion, not a fact. Everything we see is a perspective, not the truth.”

ACTION: Focus on God’s perspective and Word.

PRAYER:  Lord, please help me to see what you see, hear what you speak and receive the impossible.
