03 JUNE
SEE IT, HAVE IT
“…and there cut down a branch with one cluster of grapes; they carried it between two of them on a pole. They also brought some of the pomegranates and figs.”
(Numbers 13:23)
“The land through which we have gone as spies is a land that devours its inhabitants, and all the people whom we saw in it are men of great stature.” (Numbers 13:32)
Twelve spies were sent, ten saw giant men but two saw giant fruits.
| S.N | TEN SAW GIANTS | TWO WITH GOD SAW FRUITS |
| 1 | We are not able | We are able |
| 2 | The people who dwell in the land are stronger than we are | The people of the land are bread for us |
| 3 | The land devours its people | The land is exceedingly good and flows with milk and honey |
| 4 | The people we saw in the land are giants, of great heights | The clusters of grapes are very huge, so are the pomegranates and figs |
| 5 | The cities are fortified and very large | If the Lord delights in us, He will bring us into this land and give it to us |
| 6 | We seemed to ourselves like grasshoppers and so to them | Their protection is removed from them |
| 7 | Desired to go back to Egypt in rebellion – Backslide | Tore their clothes – crying out to God in repentance |
| 8 | Were greatly afraid, grumbled and were disobedient | Strong and courageous, confident, reliant on God and fully obedient |
| 9 | All died in the wilderness without seeing or possessing | Arrived at the promised and possessed their inheritance |
Even though the popular saying is “majority carries the vote”, Samuel Adams rightly said that “it does not take a majority to prevail but rather an irate, tireless minority, keen on setting bushfires of freedom in the minds of men.” But even more importantly, Frederick Douglas said: “One and God make a majority.” And most importantly, Apostle Paul declared, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me” (Philippians 4:13).
ACTION: See only what God sees and stand with Him for a majority!
PRAYER: Help me, Lord to see only what you want me to see!
