05 JULY

WALKING IN TRUST (4)

“Come, I will send you to Pharaoh that you may bring my people, the children of Israel, out of Egypt.” (Exodus 3:10)

Moses spent 40 years waiting for God’s timing for the beginning of the fulfilment of his destiny. The divine call to him, as revealed in our text, came at an unexpected time, in a miraculous way. God had protected him at birth because his parents had trusted Him! God had also protected him from Pharaoh, as well as from the dangers of the journey from Egypt through the deserts and the hilly terrain to Midian, as a hot-tempered fugitive.

God eventually led him back for his call.

God also protected the Israelites from annihilation in Egypt because their fathers, Jacob and Joseph, trusted Him. The more the Egyptians made them to suffer, the more they grew and prospered. It must have been tough for Moses to believe that he and his people would ever be liberated from slavery in Egypt but he trusted God that ONE DAY His Word of deliverance and freedom would be fulfilled. And, truly, on ONE DAY, slavery expired and the road to freedom opened!

God is our protector and deliverer. As we trust Him and obey, ONE DAY, our trials will expire! The killing of Christians by Fulani herdsmen, especially in Southern Kaduna, Nigeria and the many troubles in our land have an expiry date!

ACTION: Trust in God’s protective might and He will ever show Himself strong in your life.

PRAYER: I pray that every challenge I face will make me better and stronger, not bitter, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
