THE SECRETS REVEALED
“He did not speak to them without a parable, but privately to his own disciples he explained everything.”(Mark 4:34)
Do you sometimes wonder why some people misinterpret verses in the Bible, sometimes using it to justify their sins and errors? Parables are stories and occurrences from nature, history and everyday life used to teach moral and spiritual truths.
Jesus spoke often in parables which were not understood by all. Even His simple words were not understood by many. However, He explained everything to His own disciples.
The Holy Spirit lives within the disciple to teach and reveal many mysteries. Are you a disciple? A disciple is defined as a follower, a person who believes in the ideas and principles of someone famous and tries to live the way that person does or did. A true Christian disciple believes in, trusts and follows Jesus. Such a person loves God with his whole heart and all that he has; and by God’s grace, becomes more and more like Christ through a life of faith and obedience.
Can one be a disciple and not have understanding of Scriptures and the mysteries of the Kingdom? “These things God has revealed to us through the Spirit. For the Spirit searches everything, even the depths of God. For who knows a person’s thoughts except the spirit of that person, which is in him? So also no one comprehends the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God. Now we have received not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might understand the things freely given us by God. And we impart this in words not taught by human wisdom but taught by the Spirit, interpreting spiritual truths to those who are spiritual.” (1 Corinthians 2:10-13).
Thank God for giving us the Holy Spirit. These mysteries may be revealed through stories, pictures, natural things and occurrences.
ACTION: Acknowledge and listen to the Holy Spirit’s leading and revelations.
PRAYER: Holy Spirit, please give me understanding of the mysteries of the Kingdom, as a faithful disciple of Christ.
