DAILY MANNA

“And the Lord said to Moses, I have heard the grumbling of the people of Israel. Say to them, ‘At twilight you shall eat meat, and in the morning, you shall be filled with bread. Then you shall know that I am the Lord your God’.” (Exodus 16:11-12)

From that day, throughout the Israelites’ 40 years journey in the wilderness, God provided manna to sustain them. They picked just enough for their needs daily. Jehovah Jireh, the unchanging God still provides our needs, sometimes just enough for the day. This is to satisfy our physical needs.

As God heard the grumblings of His people and provided bread and meat, so He hears us and provides for us when we pray for our needs and desires. The words of the Psalmist are so true: “I have been young, and now am old; Yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his descendants begging bread” (Psalm 37:25, NKJV).

Neither we nor our descendants will ever beg for bread – whether for our daily nourishment or the Bread of Life. God’s Word never fails! In John 6:48-50, Jesus said: “I am the bread of life. Your fathers ate the manna in the wilderness, and they died. This is the bread that comes down from heaven, so that one may eat of it and not die.”

Jesus Christ is our daily Bread who satisfies our spiritual and eternal needs. Hurrah! Jesus lives, and we live forever!

ACTION: Stop being worried and start trusting Jehovah Jireh to provide your needs.

PRAYER: Lord Jesus, please give me a portion of your refreshing presence and grace daily to live with eternity as my goal.
