A SEED PRODUCES ITS OWN KIND

“Do not be deceived: God is not mocked,

for whatever one sows, that will he also reap.”

(Galatians 6:7)

God has freely given us the seed of His Word, which gives us life abundant here on earth and life eternal in heaven. In the world there are many types of seeds available to us to choose to plant. We cannot plant a seed of corn and reap millet. Their plants look alike and so people may be deceived until the fruits (grains) come out. 

In the same way, we may plant evil seeds of gossip, cheating, deceit, fraud, lies, and the likes and not get found out immediately. But at the fruiting season, these may give a harvest of sorrow and evil. Even if it is not obvious in this world, there will surely be a harvest of death in the lake that burns with fire and brimstone eternally. God forbid!

Thank God that if we plant to please God, then we will surely reap harvests of joy, peace and victory in this life. Even if our fruits are not obvious in this world, there will surely be a harvest of life eternal in heaven. We must persist, irrespective of what the people of the world are doing or claim to be right. Our standard is God’s Word.

If a seed of corn is planted in a field of millet, it will still produce corn and not millet. We are in the world but we should not be of the world.

ACTION: Are you planting seed of eternal life or eternal death? Check up to be sure.

PRAYER: Lord, I rededicate my life to you. Give me grace to plant seeds that please you all the days of my life.
