THE RICH MAN WENT TO HELL (2)

Behold, this was the guilt of your sister Sodom: she and her daughters had pride, excess of food, and prosperous ease, but did not aid the poor and needy. (Ezekiel 16:49)

Really? I thought the prosperous cities of Sodom and Gomorrah with lush, well watered gardens, were destroyed because of their wickedness of sodomy and homosexuality only, as in Genesis 18-19. Did you ever wonder where the word “sodomy” came from? It’s from the Latin word “sodomia”, meaning “sin of Sodom”.

Please read the Bible verse above again! Sodom’s wickedness also included pride; they had excess of food and prosperous ease but did not aid the poor and needy! Sodom was judged, burnt and destroyed and lies eternally beneath the waters of the southern end of the Dead Sea.

Lot and his family were only saved because of the obedience and faithfulness of his uncle, Abraham. Who is our obedience saving? Who are we sharing our resources with?
