“This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success”. (Joshua 1:8)

Mary Anning spent all her spare time reading the Bible. She diligently discovered many fossils and the first complete Plesiosaurus skeleton. She had some near misses with death but survived long enough to make an impact on the male-dominated scientific world. She was successful by the world’s standard! God gave Joshua the formula for success and prosperity, not necessarily by the world’s standard but by His standard: be strong and courageous; study the Bible; obey God’s Word. This does not underscore the need for diligent and dedicated work to achieve success. When it was time, God gave Joshua instructions.

ACTION: Study the Bible and be diligent at such a time as this.

PRAYER: O God our Father, please grant us the grace to do what we should to be successful in Your eyes.
