“For God wants you to silence the ignorant talk of foolish people by the good things you do”. (1 Peter 2:15 GNT)
The devil, the accuser of the brethren, is always on the prowl looking for reasons to accuse us of wrongdoing. He uses either unbelievers or believers, and sometimes even we ourselves are our worst critics. An Igbo adage says: “Onukwurunjò ga-ekwu nma”, meaning: the mouth that speaks evil shall eventually speak good. Beloved, it is mandatory that we do good both in obeying God and human authority as well as good works to others. Our good works with righteous living will eventually silence the ignorance and irresponsible criticisms of foolish people. That is God’s will for us.
ACTION: We will do good things at such a time as this!
PRAYER: Lord, please grant us hearts that reach out to others with good deeds.
