“Sovereign Lord, I put my hope in you; I have trusted in you since I was young. I have relied on you all my life; you have protected me since the day I was born. I will always praise you.” (Psalm 71: 5-6)
Each of us has memories of God’s saving grace and blessings throughout our life. These give us hope and trust in the unfailing nature of God. Remember: Who fed me from her gentle breast, And hushed me in her arms to rest, And on my cheek sweet kisses pressed? My Mother.
Who sat and watched my infant head, When sleeping in my cradle bed,
And tears of sweet affection shed? My Mother.
When pain and sickness made me cry, Who gazed upon my heavy eye, And wept for fear that I should die? My Mother. By Ann Taylor
ACTION: Just as babies who cling helplessly to their mothers for food, love and protection, let us cling to God in prayer, for He is our breath.
PRAYER: Sovereign Lord, we trust in You especially at such a time as this.
