20 FEBRUARY
NOTABLE WOMEN
(DORCAS)
“Now there was in Joppa a disciple named Tabitha, which, translated, means Dorcas. She was full of good works and acts of charity.”
(Acts 9:36)
Dorcas was a disciple (follower) of Jesus Christ. She was full of good works and acts of charity. Faith without works is dead! Dorcas had faith, and she had works! She loved Jesus and this love was manifest in her love for hurting and vulnerable widows. She made clothes for them. If she was alive in this generation she would have been a working member of The Roses Ministry – www.therosesministry.org – the vision of which is “to show God’s love to the hurting and vulnerable in practical ways”.
ACTION: It is time to clear out your wardrobe of clothes and shoes you have not worn for years; and time to clear your kitchen store of trays, mugs etc. If you do not know where to take them, please send them to THE ROSES MINISTRY at the National Population Commission Office Complex, 12-14 Babs Animashaun Street, Surulere, Lagos. We have thousands of registered vulnerable widows whom we give food items, clothes, medicines for hypertension and diabetes, toiletries and vocational training! God bless you.
PRAYER: Lord, let my actions be practical manifestations of your love in the lives of others.
