(LYDIA)

“One who heard us was a woman named Lydia, from the city of Thyatira, a seller of purple goods, who was a worshipper of God. The Lord opened her heart to pay attention to what was said by Paul. And after she was baptized, and her household as well, she urged us, saying, “If you have judged me to be faithful to the Lord, come to my house and stay.” And she prevailed upon us.”(Acts 16:13 -15)

Lydia was a diligent, focused and successful business woman and worker. She fully exemplified the admonition in Romans 12:11, “Not slothful in business; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord.”  She not only became a dedicated Christian but she brought her household to know Christ/

ACTION: In obedience to the biblical injunction, be fervent in spirit, serving the Lord with all diligence and working faithfully in your job or business.

PRAYER: Lord, strengthen me and fill me with wisdom to strike a good balance in serving you faithfully and diligently doing my job (or business).
