SIGNS OF JESUS’ DIVINITY (3)

“One man was there who had been an invalid for thirty- eight years. When Jesus saw him lying there and knew that he had already been there a long time, he said to him, “Do you want to be healed? The sick man answered him, “Sir, I have no one to put me into the pool when the water is stirred up, and while I am going another steps down before me.” Jesus said to him, “Get up, take up your bed, and walk.”(John 5:5-6-8)

Thirty-eight years! How long have you whined, pined, grumbled and complained to those who have neither power nor authority to help you? How many times have you tried and made fruitless efforts to tackle some of your challenges yourself? How often have you focused on the wrong methods? “The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective”, says James 5:16 (NIV). Our cries to Jesus, our compassionate God, always bring lasting solution.

A couple once waited for 33 years to conceive! In Port Harcourt, Nigeria, the 62-year-old menopausal lady and her 70-year-old husband continued to trust God for a miracle. The woman had fibroids, which caused her pain. The more they prayed and the years passed by, the more the pain from the fibroids worsened. Instead of shrinking after menopause, it grew larger and more painful. They decided to seek a lasting medical solution to the fibroids. In the process, she received the miracle. Jehovah Rakhum surprised them with a set of triplets – two boys and a girl. The pain her fibroids caused led her to the solution of the greater problem.

The pains you have now may lead you to the solution of your major challenges. Jesus is Jehovah Rakhum, our Compassionate God.

ACTION: Believe that it is never too late for your miracle. PRAYER: Lord, please hear my cry in your compassion; shorten my times of pain with solutions of joy.
