FRAGRANCE OF THE ROSES – 23RD DECEMBER

23 DECEMBER

 JESUS IS PASSING THROUGH

“And there was a woman who had had a discharge of blood for twelve years, and who had suffered much under many physicians, and had spent all that she had, and was no better but rather grew worse.
She had heard the reports about Jesus and came up behind him in the crowd and touched his garment.
For she said, “If I touch even his garments, I will be made well.”
And immediately the flow of blood dried up, and she felt in her body that she was healed of her disease.”
(Mark 5:25-29)

Jesus Christ is passing through, in the crowds and activities of Christmas, in the midst of the twinkling lights, red and green drapes, music, singing and dancing, eating and drinking, travelling from one place to another to be with family and friends.

What a wonderful season!  Will you reflect with me today on a bit of the essence of Jesus Christ, our Saviour and Healer? The woman presented to us by St. Mark in the passage above with the discharge of blood for twelve years, pushed through the crowd – not minding the shame that comes with her condition – just to touch Jesus. She had faith.

What is it in our lives or those of our loved ones that seem to have defied all attempts at finding a legitimate and viable solution? Jesus is passing through today, as He does every day! The thief (devil) comes to steal, kill and destroy but Jesus has come that we might have life and a more abundant one for that matter.

ACTION: Will you believe, trust in Jesus, push and determine to experience His transforming touch?

PRAYER:  Thank you, Lord, for making me a recipient of abundant life!
