WISDOM TO INVEST TALENTS
“For whoever has, to him more will be given, and he will have abundance; but whoever does not have, even what he has will be taken away from him.” (Matthew 13:12, NKJV)
We receive gifts and talents according to our ability. God gives us wisdom liberally when we ask and we have the Holy Spirit to guide us. We all have special talents from God, not just for our own selves but more importantly in service to God and our fellow men. It is our responsibility to use our gifts well and faithfully, to yield results and profit for God’s glory.
The primary thing we owe God and our fellow men is love. If we love people, we would seek their good and gladly use our gifts in service for the profit of all.
Increase in gifts and resources come only as a reward for our diligence and faithfulness. Using our gifts is an investment that God rewards. We must not compare our gifts and talents with what others have. God does not reward according to how huge the gifts and talents are but how faithfully we have used them.
As even the Parable of the Talents in Matthew 25:15–29 reveals, failure can only be as a result of laziness, wickedness or lack of love for our Master and Lord. This results in loss of the gifts.
ACTION: Think and outline ways you in which you can bless humanity with your abilities.
PRAYER: Teach me, Lord, to use my abilities and resources to serve you and bless the world.
