“Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it.”

(Proverbs 22:6)

Charles Ludwig wrote about Susanna Wesley: “…Although she never preached a sermon or published a book or founded a church, (she) is known as the Mother of Methodism. Why? Because two of her sons, John Wesley and Charles Wesley, as children consciously or unconsciously will, applied the example and teachings and circumstances of their home life.”

ACTION: Are you a living example to your children? When, for instance, you observe ineffective church leadership, do you react with complaints and gossip; or prayers for the leaders; or action to fill in the gaps, as Susanna did?

PRAYER: Lord, help me to set a good example for my children with my lifestyle, teachings and circumstances of my home life.
