WALK IN THE LIGHT (3)

“For you have delivered my soul from death, yes, my feet from falling, that I may walk before God in the light of life.”

(Psalms 56:13)

Walking in the light of Jesus Christ saves us from eternal death. It also gives us wisdom and grace to make right choices. It makes us sensitive to the voice and direction of God, saving us from the many dangers of life, some of which may lead to untimely death.

The light makes it possible to recognise and resist sinful thoughts, choices and temptations. The light within us exposes and drives out the darkness. Satan and his demons cannot stand the light of Jesus Christ.

Walking before God in the light of life is abundant life that overcomes sickness, poverty, destructive relationships and many other challenges that hold people in captivity. The light of life makes us focus more on our blessings than our pains. As Helen Keller rightly said: “I cried that I had no shoes until I met a man who had no feet.” Even when challenging situations are not resolved, walking in the light of Christ gives us resilience, an attitude of joy and an inner peace that only Christ can give. 

ACTION:  Sing this song with determination: “This little light of mine, I’m going to make it shine!”

PRAYER: Help me, Lord, to walk in and spread your light all the days of my life.
