FRAGRANCE OF THE ROSES – 6TH OCTOBER

Spread the Good News

6TH OCTOBER

WORDS ARE SEEDS

“A sower went out to sow his seed. And as he sowed, some fell along
the path and was trampled underfoot, and the birds of the air
devoured it. ……And some fell into good soil and grew and yielded a
hundredfold.” As he said these things, he called out,
“He who has ears to hear, let him hear.”
(Luke 8: 5 – 8)

The Oxford dictionary describes a seed as the unit of reproduction of a
flowering plant, capable of developing into another such plant.
A seed is planted in a suitable soil and watered, while getting adequate
exposure to sunlight. It germinates and may be transplanted as a seedling. It grows with vegetation till it reaches the flowering stage and begins to bear
fruits, depending on the plant. An unplanted seed remains the same or may
die off.

In interpreting the above parable, Jesus said, “Now the parable is this: The seed is the word of God” (Luke 8:11). What we do with or to any spoken or written word of God determines our fruitfulness in the Kingdom and eternal rewards. The foundational Scripture for The Roses is Matthew 25:35-36. Since 2007, we have run with the vision in these words and grown from a membership of three to about 1,500, as of 2018.
