JESUS, OUR GREAT PHYSICIAN (3)

“And the prayer of faith will save the one who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up.”  (James 5:15)

Jesus, as man, healed the sick. Jesus is alive and still heals the sick. He has also given all believers authority to heal the sick. He says, “And these signs will accompany those who believe: in my name they will cast out demons; they will lay their hands on the sick, and they will recover” (Mark 16:17–18).

The Bible has numerous accounts of divine healing through believers. Acts 3:1–9 gives an account of a man who was born lame and was begging at the gate of the temple. He looked up to Peter and John for alms. “But Peter said, “I have no silver and gold, but what I do have I give to you. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk!” And he took him by the right hand and raised him up, and immediately his feet and ankles were made strong”. (Acts 3:6–7).

Are you a believer? Just like Peter above, we have been given the authority to speak healing as the Lord lays in our hearts, to pray and act in faith.
