THE WITNESS (4)

“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” (Philippians 4:13)

“Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid…for the Lord thy God is with you wherever you go.” (Joshua 1:9)

There are barriers to overcome in witnessing for Christ.

To overcome lack of self–confidence: Speak the above and other related Scriptures to yourself. It is about Jesus not you!

To overcome the fear of not knowing Scriptures: Share testimonies and practical things Christ has done for you. Also, spend more time studying the Scripture and the Holy Spirit will bring relevant passages to your memory when needed.

Pray for revelation–God is willing to reveal his plans to his people: “Surely the Lord God does nothing, unless He reveals His secret to His servants the prophets” (Amos 3:7).

God spoke to Peter to expect Cornelius, as well as to Cornelius, giving him the names of place, person and address: “And now send men to Joppa and bring one Simon who is called Peter. He is lodging with one Simon, a tanner, whose house is by the sea” (Acts 10:5–6). God is a master planner.

There is a time to confront and dismantle barriers especially physical. In Acts 13:9–12, Paul rebuked the false prophet, Bar–Jesus, who was discouraging the pro–consul from believing.

Expect signs and wonders: God promised that signs and wonders will follow believers.

ACTION: Trust and obey!

PRAYER: Father, please enable me to overcome barriers to witnessing.
