“It came to pass that Cain brought an offering of the fruit of the ground to the Lord. Abel also brought of the firstborn of his flock and of their fat. And the Lord respected Abel and his offering, but He did not respect Cain and his offering. And Cain was very angry, and his countenance fell.” (Genesis 4:3-5)

“Then this Daniel distinguished himself above the governors and satraps, because an excellent spirit was in him.” (Daniel 6:3)

ACTION: Choose, read, meditate on a few Bible verses daily and determine to obey. Be like Abel and Daniel who knew the Law, obeyed it and pleased God, and not like Cain, who did not please God and allowed it to lead him into anger and wickedness. Reject jealousy.

PRAYER: Our Father, thank You for life and easy access to Scriptures – both printed and electronic. We pray that the Word will bless us like Abel and not judge us like Cain. Lord, imbue us with an excellent Spirit like Daniel, so that we will distinguish ourselves wherever we are. Jesus is the Wisdom of God!
