CHRIST’S ABIDING PRESENCE

“And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” (Matthew 28:20)

The world we live in is full of evil, pain and suffering, even for believers; but, thankfully, God is still in control. Our faith conflicts with the values of this world. Our comfort comes from knowing that Jesus promised to be with us always. He also suffered, so He understands and feels our pains, fears, weaknesses and disappointments. We should trust Him and be bold and courageous.

Our patriarchs in the Hall of faith in Hebrews 11 did not receive the promise, as they did not live to see Christ but their faith and sacrifices paved the way for the coming of the Messiah. Martin Luther King, Rosa Parks, Mandela and many others made sacrifices for the generation we see today. Martin Luther King, Jnr did not live to see the fulfilment of his dream in his speech “I have a dream…” But we are privileged to see the reality of that dream!

Life is a stage. We are called to play our own part and leave the stage for others. We may or may not be actors at the last scene. Jesus Christ, the Promise Keeper, will be with us on and outside the stage till it is time to go home. So, irrespective of joys and challenges, we should be focused on Jesus.

 ACTION: What sacrifices are you making for your generations to come, in your daily life, family, relationships, the hurting and vulnerable, your work and your country? Nigeria needs people who will stand for truth!
