JESUS, OUR GREAT PHYSICIAN (2)

“While he was preaching God’s word to them, four men arrived carrying a paralyzed man on a mat. They couldn’t bring him to Jesus because of the crowd, so they dug a hole through the roof above his head. Then they lowered the man on his mat, right down in front of Jesus. Seeing their faith, Jesus said to the paralyzed man, “My child, your sins are forgiven.” …..Then Jesus turned to the paralyzed man and said,

 “Stand up, pick up your mat, and go home!” And the man jumped up, grabbed his mat, and walked out through the stunned onlookers. They were all amazed and praised God, exclaiming, “We’ve never seen anything like this before!”  (Mark 2:2–5, 10–12, NLT)

Here, we see four men who had the same desperate faith as the woman with the issue of blood and who acted for the paralysed man. They heard the word, which activated their faith. Digging a hole through the roof must have taken time, energy and financial resources both for removing and probably replacement afterwards. All these were nothing compared to the healing and restoration of an active life for their friend. They believed and trusted in Jesus and his ability to heal. They were not discouraged by the barriers (crowds) to getting to Jesus.

I imagine that the noise and dust particles must have brought negative reactions from the people but these four men did not give up. Is there someone you wish could have a different life, free from physical or emotional pain, free from some disability in mind or body, free from captivity to some character trait? Jesus sends His Word and He heals us all. Pray in faith!

Jesus forgave the man’s sins before healing him. Pray for God’s mercy and forgiveness! Believe and trust in Jesus our Saviour and Great Physician! Act to bring the person to Jesus! Your faith can bring healing to another. Do not be discouraged! Do not give up!

ACTION: Write down names of people you will begin to pray for from today till their solution comes. Also join other believers in praying fervently to our Lord to reveal the real cure, a simpler and less destructive cure for cancer.

PRAYER: Lord, I pray for healing for all my sick loved ones and neighbours, in the name of Jesus.
